The Classic Frenchie
French toast! Need we say more? Take this timeless breakfast favorite to new heights with Thomas'® Swirl Bread.
- 6 slices Thomas’® Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Bread
- 2 eggs
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp nutmeg
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- 3 tbsp butter
- whipped cream
- sliced strawberries
- powdered sugar
- maple syrup
- In a bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, nutmeg and cinnamon.
- Coat each slice of Swirl Bread evenly in egg mixture.
- Bring a skillet to medium heat and add 1 tbsp butter.
- Add 2 slices of bread and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown. Repeat for remaining slices.
- Add 3 slices to each plate and top with sliced strawberries, a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of powdered sugar. Serve with maple syrup.
