Sloppy Joes English Muffin

This twist on the classic American sandwich tops off its sweet, tangy flavor with melted Provolone.

Ingredients

6 Thomas’® Original English Muffins, split
1 lb lean ground beef
8 slices of Provolone cheese
8 oz can tomato sauce
1/8 cup brown sugar
½ cup ketchup
1 cup water
salt to taste

Directions

Over medium heat, brown ground beef in skillet. Drain off excess before stirring in tomato sauce, brown sugar, ketchup and water. Simmer over low heat for 20 minutes until slightly thickened. Spoon over Thomas’® English Muffins and top with Provolone and muffin half. For side, marinate cucumber and onion slices in vinaigrette for an hour or more in refrigerator before serving.
