Ham and Cheese Muffin Melts
For quiet mornings with the kids, try our ham and cheese muffin melt. Ready in minutes.
4 Thomas'® 100% Whole Wheat English Muffins, split and toasted
4 tablespoons yellow or spicy brown mustard
6 oz thinly sliced deli ham (about 12 slices) such as Black Forest or Virginia ham
2 oz thinly sliced aged cheddar or Swiss cheese
Spread mustard evenly (about 1 1/2 teaspoons each) onto cut sides of each muffin half. Divide ham and cheese, ending with cheese, onto bottom halves of muffins and transfer to a sheet pan; broil 6 inches from heat, until cheese melts, for 1 to 2 minutes. Serve topped with remaining muffin halves mustard sides down. NOTE: If you want this open face you could reduce the ingredient list to 2 muffins and 2 tablespoons mustard. Additions: Sliced dill pickle under the cheese, honey mustard or stone-ground mustard instead of regular mustard.
